We spent a very enjoyable time at Everglades National Park and depart for Naples, Florida. We make a stop at Everglades City to have lunch at City Seafood and then purchase some of their fresh stone crabs for my sister who lives in Naples.

We arrive in Naples to spend time visiting with my sister and her husband at their home. We plan to be here through the end of March. During this period of time, I will assist my sister with transporting her invalid husband to several dentist and doctor appointments she has scheduled for him during our visit.

My sister lives in a gated community, comprised of single-family estate homes. Their homeowners association does not allow recreational vehicles, boats, etc., to reside on residential property. Therefore, we must find a place to park our trailer for the duration of our visit. On our previous visits, the homeowners association allowed us to park our trailer in their maintenance area which had free parking spaces available for visitors RV's. In the summer of 2017 the homeowners association changed their rules to restrict the maintenance area for maintenance vehicles only. We have to find a place to store our trailer outside of their gated community.

My sisters' eldest son lives in Bonita Springs, just a few miles north of Naples. He does not live in a gated community and graciously offered us a space on his property to park our trailer. Problem solved!

Naples is located on the Gulf of Mexico in southwest Florida. It's known for high-end shopping and golf courses. The Naples pier, first erected in 1888, is the city's symbol, and is a popular fishing and dolphin-spotting destination. It's flanked by miles of beaches with calm waters and fine white sand. The southern shoreline is dotted with magnificent multi-million dollar mansions. As of 2015, the city's population was 20,600.

Naples provides us with a homebase to visit other closeby communities: Fort Meyers, Bonita Springs, Marco Island and Everglade City.

Tomorrow another adventure begins.
