Eastbank Campground
Bainbridge, Georgia
We departed the Salt Springs Recreation Area in Salt Springs, Florida at 7:50 a.m. The sky was overcast with a forecast for rain showers and the temperature in the low sixties.
Our route this morning took us north on FL-19 to west on FL-100 to Lake City, Florida. During this leg of the trip we encountered spells of light rain. At 10:45 a.m., we stopped at the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Lake City for a late breakfast. After consuming a hearty, high caloric breakfast we continued on our journey. Approximately 50 miles east of Tallahassee, Florida, we left the overcast sky behind us and enjoyed the remainder of our travel under a clear blue sky. The warmth of the sun beaming through our windshield was a welcome relief from the damp, cool weather we had left behind.
We arrived at the Army Corps of Engineering, Eastbank Campground, in Bainbridge, Georgia at 2:35 p.m. In January 2014, we had made reservations for site C-33. This campsite overlooks Lake Seminole. Our campsite was available for us to occupy upon our arrival, so we settled in for a six-day stay.
Cellular service through our T-Mobile service provider is only available through the use of our signal booster. We then receive a G signal with 2-3 bars signal strength. This signal strength provides very poor Internet service with our smartphone tethered to our laptop.
Camping Fees: $22.00 (50% discount with Golden Age Pass)
Total miles traveled today: 264
Tomorrow another adventure begins.
