Green Eggs & Ham IV Casita Rally
Gunter Hill COE Campground
Montgomery, Alabama

We spent a pleasant six days at the Eastbank Campground in Bainbridge, Georgia, now it is time to move on. We departed the campground at 7:40 a.m. and had a late breakfast at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Dothan, Alabama.

We arrived at the Gunter Hill Campground in Montgomery, Alabama at 1:20 p.m. This will be our home through Saturday while we attend the Green Eggs & Ham IV Casita Rally. We are looking forward to meeting some of the folks we have only read about, through their blogs and their postings on the two Casita forums.

The Casita Rally is being hosted in the Catoma Loop of the campground. When we made our online reservations, all of the campsites in that loop were booked, so we reserved campsite #82 in the Antioch Loop. There is about a one-mile separation between these two campsite loops. We were informed upon our arrival that a couple of campsites had become available in the Catoma Loop. The campground host was very accommodating and reassigned us to campsite #63 through Friday and campsite #54 for Saturday.

We receive an E signal with 1-3 bars signal strength through our T-Mobile service provider. Our signal booster provides an E signal with 4 bars signal strength. This signal strength provides very good Internet service with our smartphone tethered to our laptop.

We settled into our campsite and were pleased to see some friends of ours (Larry and Debbie of Little House Customs) were in the campsite next to ours. As we took a walk around the campground we met another friend who was visiting with several other campers. We chatted with them for a while and as darkness settled in, we retired to the comfort of our Casita Trailer.

Let the Rally begin!

Camping Fees: $24.00 (50% discount with Golden Age Pass)

Tomorrow another adventure begins.
