Kanab, UT - 11/07/14

Friday – November 7, 2014
Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park
Kanab, Utah

We departed Zion National Park in Springdale, Utah at 4:20 p.m. We got a late start due to having to wait for the UPS to make its 3:00 p.m. daily delivery to the post office. We had ordered an item from Amazon.com for delivery to the post office in Springdale. The item did not arrive, so after a call to UPS, they confirmed they had the item, we had them reroute the shipment to the post office in the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

We arrived at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park in Kanab, Utah at 5:30 p.m. This is a beautiful state park with a campground containing 22 campsites. There are no hook-ups at any of the campsites. There are water spigots dispersed throughout the campground. There is one restroom facility with flush toilets and free hot showers. There is one sewage disposal station.

The Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park contains 1200 acres of colorful, sweeping dunes dotted with juniper and pinon pines. The park is a popular destination for off-highway vehicles (OHV) and dune buggies. Approximately 90 percent of the Coral Pink dune field is open to OHV use.
